Forms Portal and signatures question

asked on May 16, 2014

1) Is it possible for a Laserfiche Form created for public use (job app for example) to utilize advanced features like database lookup to fill out portions of the form based on the users input, or are those features reserved for those with user licenses?

2) How does DocuSign integrate with Forms?

3) Are there eSignature options (other than DocuSign) that can be implemented into Laserfiche Forms created for public use, or must someone have a user license in order to eSign a Form?

1. Yes, you can still take advantage of features like database lookups when accessing a public form. Forms has the same functionality whether you are accessing the form using a user license, or the Forms Portal.

2. Currently Forms does not integrate directly with DocuSign. However, once your form is saved into Laserfiche, you could use Web Access with DocuSign to send and receive electronic signatures.

3. In Forms 9.2 we are adding a signatures field that can be signed by any user accessing the form! Users will be able to sign with their mouse or finger if using a touch pad. Forms 9.2 is scheduled for release later this year.

3. You can also use some custom JavaScript that was provided by some Laserfiche team members to accomplish signatures in the current version of Forms as well. We use it in a lot of our forms.

Can non users without the full license use the forms portal to approve documents, push them through a workflow, print, email?

Thank you

No, anyone that will be part of the approval process must have a license. With that said, there are Participant licenses that are cheaper. It does not allow the user access to the main Laserfiche repository, only Forms.

So if they are a forms authenticated participant, can they create, approve and send a document through a workflow?

Thank you!

Jason,  With the upcoming release, will we be able to utilize a signature pad, such as a Topaz, rather than a mouse or touch pad to capture the signature?

The Forms 9.2 release will not include built-in support for signature pads.
