Question

Select laserfiche server

asked on May 15, 2014 Show version history

 Hi,

I have a customer that wants to remove the old Laserfiche server name from the list in the "Select Lasefiche Server" dialog box when you are registering your repository in the admin console. Is there a way to remove the old server(s) that appear in this list?

Thanks,

Brian

What the administration console, the Laserfiche client, and other programs do when they query the list of available Laserfiche servers is to search the Active Directory forest for registered Laserfiche service connection points (SCP). These are objects in Active Directory that describe how to access a particular service.

You need to use the service connection point (SCP) management utility named lfscpcfg.exe in the LFS program directory to remove old SCPs that are no longer useful. This is a command-line program that can be used to delete old SCP entries. Please see the documentation on the SCP utility in the Administration Guide, Appendix C for details.

Hi Chris,

I'm not trying to remove any servers from the admin console. I'm trying to remove the servers that are available when you go to register a server in the admin console, and you click the three dots ... and have a list of servers that you can choose. There are old servers in that list that they would like removed.

Thanks,

Brian

In the admin console you should be able to simply right-click on the old server and pick All Tasks - Remove Server Registration.
