View Document Audit

asked on May 15, 2014

So if someone simply opens up a Word document that is stored in Laserfiche...does the Audit Trail log the  Write E-File Contents simply because it was open, or would it log the View Document event?  Just trying to figure out if someone simply opens a Word document, but claims they've made no changes...how does Laserfiche record that?

'View Document' and 'Check In Entry' are the events that're generated when you open a Word document in Laserfiche. If you edit the document, you'll see a number of other events. My testing showed 'View Document', 'Write E-File Contents', 'Recycle Pages', 'Purge Pages', 'Create Page', 'Modify Page', and 'Check In Entry' (in order). Your events may differ slightly, but I'd be on the lookout for 'Write E-File Contents'.
