What kind of change do you want to make to the field width?

If you look at the forum post linked I linked to, Jeanie's post  (bottom of the page) indicates that if you're only increasing the width, you can make the edit directly to the propdef table for those specific fields. Make sure to stop the server then start it again after you've saved your changes.

You shouldn't attempt any other changes directly to the table. This includes decreasing width, changing field name, changing type, etc. Increasing the width is the only safe change. Note that if they're willing to upgrade, it's probably better that they do so.

If you're looking to decrease the width of the fields, the customer is going to have to upgrade.

Hi Mohammed,

This was an issue with Laserfiche that has been resolved. You'll need to upgrade to fix this.

Ben is correct. The issue was addressed in the Laserfiche server, specifically in version 9.0. See here for more details.

The table name is propdef and column name is prop_len.

Just a heads up, this link:

https://support.laserfiche.com/Forums/login.php?redirect=viewtopic.php&t=17694

redirects to a page that simply displays "241.903"

Hi Brianna -

After trying all kinds of logins and logouts, I can actually log Into the forums page, but it is collapsed and will not expand any of the threads.

The old forums should be back up. You may need to clear your support site cookies in order to access them.

That worked perfectly, thanks.  The merged fields (first post) is a good idea in a pinch.  If moving from 8.3 to 9.1.1, where Versioning was turned on in 8.3, are there any additional items we should take into account?  For instance, is it possible to turn versioning off?
