Word Documents - Display Context Hits

asked on May 8, 2014

Is there any option to display context hits for Microsoft Word Documents. By default it just shows how many hits and "Hits not shown". Thanks.

If you extracted text from the Word documents, then the context hits will be displayed. If however the Word documents didn't have text extracted from it, but rather were only indexed by the Laserfiche Full Text Search and Indexing service, then it will not show the context hits and just say "X hit(s) in the electronic document. Hits not shown."

In the web client, select "generate searchable text" from the overflow menu's Advanced category.

Oh, I see. We asked for all entries to generate searchable text during the migration so expected they already had been. I see that none of the .doc files have any pages and when I generate text we get context details. I am applying generate text to all of them now.
