Question

Rio 9.1 Workflow server configuration with Oracle DB

asked on May 8, 2014

When running the WF config manager we are getting the error "Unable to find the requested .Net Framework Data Provider.  It may not be installed".  The Oracle client with ODAC .net and asp.net data providers are installed.  When looking in the log file it states "Workflow database is not configured.  Run the configuration manager to resolve.".  That is what we are trying to do.  We have not used workflow before so it is a fresh installation and the documentation for Oracle installations seems to be somewhat lacking.  Has anyone else encountered this and if so how was it resolved?

Thanks

Please make sure that the 64 bit version of ODAC is installed on that server. You can download it from this page.

Is Workflow being installed on a 32 or 64 bit server? If it's a 64 bit server, did you install the 32 or 64 bit version of Workflow? Please make sure that the version of ODAC installed on that server matches the architecture of the Workflow application.

Thanks Alexander.  It is a win 2008 r2 64 bit server.  WF and Oracle client are 64 as well, but in the odbc drivers the Oracle driver shows as sqora32.dll.  It is the only one that shows up.

Thanks again Alexander.  After downloading the x-copy version of the ODAC and installing it over the existing installation, the WF config worked fine.
