Laserfiche Mobile - Opening a LF Document Link Through an Email

asked on May 7, 2014

Our secretaries send out the mail as links via email to our attorneys.  If the attorneys are out of the office and receiving their email on their iphones, they are not able to view the documents by hitting the link.  We have installed the LF Mobile App and they can close email, open LF Mobile and go find the doc in LF that way, but they want to be able to open the doc by just hitting the link that is attached to the email. We try to avoid sending the docs via email as PDFs due to the amount of memory it takes up in our system.

Thank you.

How do you see the URL format?  All we see is a .lfe attachment.  When we click on that, we get an error message that says, "Failed to parse document link file (error code 111)"  on the mobile device.

Thanks so much Julia!

The LFE extension is an XML file that simply contains the repository information and the entry id of the document. I'm having the same issue with a customer and would also like to know if the Laserfiche Mobile app can resolve the LFE files to open the document.

Hunter is right. And this issue gets fixed in next release, that from both iOS and Android app, .lfe will be able to launch from email using "open in" and picking LF app.

Hi, Janie,

It's supported to launch Laserfiche Mobile from the link in email.

What's your URL format for opening the file?

Is it using the default website, like.. /laserfiche or /mobile?

And does it have a different port number?
