I'd like the comments field in approval steps to be available to Workflow as a token. Is that possible?

As Blake pointed out, you can save the "Comments" field in a Save to Repository task, but you can just as easily use the "Retrieve Laserfiche Forms Content" Activity in Workflow to retrieve the Comments field as well. The Comments field will be pulled automatically, so you don't need to worry about finding the field from within the Fields section of the "Retrieve Laserfiche Forms Content" activity.
