Question

Does a user with viewer only access to Laserfiche Client require a license?

asked on May 1, 2014

We have "users" of our Laserfiche Client 9.1.1 that fall into all categories of access. Do all "users," whether they have Viewer, User, Mgr or Full access that log into Laserfiche Client need a license? It was my understanding that Viewer access only to Laserfiche Client did not require a license.

If you are using Avante or Rio, Yes, every user needs a license despite what kind of access they will have in the system.

If you are using WebLink for your read-only users than the licensing is a little different and you don't necessarily need a license for each user.

Yes--all access to the repository requires a license. How are your users accessing their documents? Are they using the Laserfiche Client? WebLink?
