Photodocs not picking up camera images

asked on April 30, 2014

The Photodocs application is not showing the images for camera 'Canon Owershot A2500' which throws an error "Laserfiche Photodocs - The path does not exist or is not accessible." when you click on the camera in the source drop down.  Seems to work fine for my other camera 'Canon Powershot SD790 IS'.  Have tried this on Laserfiche versions 9.0.2 (Win 7 SP1)  and 9.1.1.486 on (Win 7 SP1 and Win 8.1).  Seemed to work OK with LF XP SP3 and that makes it weirder.  Thanks.

Please confirm if Windows itself is detecting the camera. Also see if there may be a conflict caused by other applications installed on the PC. You may want to refer to this Canon forum post if Windows itself isn't detecting the camera.

Yes.  In all cases Windows is picking up the camera under the Computer icon in Windows Explorer.  The work around seems to be to copy the images from the camera removable storage disk in Windows explorer to a folder on the computer and then use Photodocs source to show the images...kinda defeats the purpose of Photodocs though.

Also, Win 7 tests were using Win 7 SP1 32 bit.  Win 8.1 test was using Win 8.1 64 bit.  The camera showed up in both tests.

Please contact your Laserfiche reseller to open a support case so the matter can be further investigated.
