Question

Scanner returns to default after shutdown

asked on April 29, 2014

Is there anything in Laserfiche which could cause a scanner to change the default settings back to color from greyscale.  We have seen this issue crop up after a shut down, and then after the machine is restarted in the morning?

The scanner is a Canon M-160 and we have gone into Capture perfect to make sure the drivers are set to the preference we woudl want, and also have configured the scanner in Laserfiche.  If there is anything I am missing, I would love any feedback or direction to take with this. This is on Avante 9.1.1

What scan engine is being used? If it's ScanConnect, make sure that the user logged into Windows has full permissions to C:\Windows\setscan.ini

It is set  for TWAIN scanning in Laserfiche.

Are you using the Laserfiche TWAIN settings or the default scanner software settings?

We set the scanner settings to the desired setting and then use those as the default.

I'm referring to the screenshot below

Are you using the "default scanner software" or "these settings" when configuring the scanner options?

We are after a fashion. We are clicking the default scanner software option to get the options window to come up.  After we choose the options we want, we then choose the "these settings" option.

Please clarify your statement. When scanning using TWAIN, you would only be using the "default scanner software" or "these settings" and not both. You can switch it between scan jobs, but for an individual scan job, you'd just select one or the other prior to scanning.

With that being said, which option are you using that is then causing the problem of it not remembering the color selection or the resolution, etc. after closing and reopening Laserfiche Scanning?

At this point though, I think it may just be better if you can open a support case and perhaps record a video demonstrating the issue.

I will capture a video of what is happening.
