The help files say:
- Enter the credentials that Laserfiche Forms will use to access the Laserfiche Server. Please note that:
- The account must be a named user with the Manage Truestees privilege for the specified repository.
- The first time you log into Laserfiche Forms, you'll need to use this account as it will be the only user with the System Administrator role. Once you log in, you can go to the System Settings page to give security roles to other users.
- This account will be used by Forms the first time it logs in to the server. When Laserfiche Forms successfully connects to the Laserfiche Server, it will activate the special FormsUser$ account, which it will use when connecting to the Laserfiche Server in the future. Once this occurs, Forms will no longer use the account you specified to connect to the Laserfiche Server.
Forms will only use this account once, so while it does require a named user during the configuration, it does not use that account after the registration is completed.
I think I understand. For future reference if we use the built in ADMIN account can we make that one time connection without borrowing a named license?
I just want to also point out that if you create a named user specifically to configure the repository in Forms then take away the named user license from that user, you should make sure to add forms admin users before removing the named user license. The account that you use to configure the repository in Forms is the only default admin when you first log into Forms. So just be sure to remove the license AFTER you've already added admin users, otherwise you have to redo configuration.
We are on 10.3.1.553 and this funtionality does not seem to be working. Forms has yet to establish a communication channel as the FORMSUSER$. Thus when I remove the license that it was using during development to allocate to an end user forms can no longer save to the repository. Event Viewer claims that forms no longer has a read/write license. So what would be preventing the switch over?
