Kofax VRS (basic) software with Barcode 3 module is suitable for the Laserfiche solution

Does Kofax VRS (basic) with Barcode 3 module works fine with Laserfiche. What we are planning to achieve is, to scan a bulk of documents with barcoded coversheets as separators and use kofax vrs to split documents when there is a new barcoded coversheet.

You can use Kofax to scan to disk and separate pages using barcode. Then you can use Universal Capture to bring those documents into Laserfiche.

 

Or you can use Kofax VRS to scan into Laserfiche directly. Barcodes will not be recognized in this case (Kofax may read them at scan time, but  LFScanning won't be able to use them to separate documents).

 

If you want Quick Fields to read barcodes, you need the Barcode add-on for Quick Fields. The scan engine doesn't matter in this case.

Quick Fields and Laserfiche Scanning do not use Kofax Barcodes as separators.

But if we use Kofax VRS to scan into Laserfiche (by selecting Kofax VRS as scan source), we can setup jobs in Kofax scanning utility to read the barcodes and assign them to template fields. Is this right?

 

Then can't we split documents using barcoded coversheets as seperaters?

Are there any issues or experiences around the barcodes that can be shared.
