Configuring the the Workflow Web Service prior to consuming it

Is there any documentation for configuring the Workflow Web Service prior to consuming it in a custom application? It seems natural that some configuration document would accompany the following document titled "Workflow 9.0: Consuming the Workflow Web Service" as configuring the Web Service is a prerequisite to consuming it. https://support.laserfiche.com/GetFileRepositoryEntry.aspx?id=2732&mode=download

Our Workflow Web Service was configured and we have a custom app that was instantiating a workflow and passing input tokens but when we upgraded to Workflow 9.1.1 from 9.1.0 the installation overwrote the configuration files and some of the IIS settings. We're forced to reconfigure the Web Service and want to know if Laserfiche has documentation on the subject and to ensure we're following Laserfiche best practices. It would also be beneficial if you added to your release notes that the upgrade will overwrite changes you have made to your configuration files if you are using the Workflow Web Service in custom application integration.

Another issue that I ran into is that a windows feature that is needed for WCF services needs to be installed (but is not needed if using it as a REST service). Please make sure the HTTP Activation feature is turned on.

I made the changes you suggested. Thanks for the reply and for future consideration. Please let us know if Laserfiche releases an official document related to configuring the web service.

I made the REST service work at one time but do not have a configuration guide from Laserfiche. The update from 9.1 to 9.1.1 seems to have broken the service on our server. I hope someone at Laserfiche (or maybe a vendor that has experience with the service) can provide a recommended configuration.

Can you verify that your Workflow virtual directory authentication has only 'Windows Authentication' enabled? If it does not, please change the configuration so Windows Authentication is the only method enabled and try your integration again.

Brandon - I apologize for overwriting your changes, we didn't expect anticipate anyone changing this file. We added several measures to improve the default security of the web service.
