140.66 error when clicking search results on support site

asked on April 22, 2014

Is anyone else getting this error when clicking on search results on the support site?

At first clearing browser temp files and cookies and using IE I could get around it. I can no longer get around it.

The page source is just the error code and no other HTML.

What type of search result are you trying to access? If it's a link to the archived forums, then that's still unavailable at the moment.

*Edit*

The archived forums should be accessible again. Make sure you are logged into the support site first before accessing the forums.

It was a forums post. I suppose most of my searches are for old forums posts, I still use it a lot to reference information and old issues. It has been plaguing me all month though. Maybe I am thinking of the 270.66 error.

It's not an error code, it's actually a part of your IP address, so yes, it would be the same issue Devin mentions. It happens if you try to access a link on the forums after your connection timed out. Logging out and back in will clear it.

It asks me to login when I click the link to the post. I just tried logging in before running the search and I get the same issue. No tabs or other browser instances open.

Yeah, the old bug is that clicking the link would make you log in to the support site but not properly transfer that login to the forums. So actually logging out and back in from the forums page fixes it.

We are currently having some extra issues with our support site, like Alex said above, from changing it to a new web server. We're hoping to have them cleared up soon.

Any updates on this? I still can't access forums based on search and there is years of helpful stuff in there. Maybe import it all to Answers?

No updates. If you go to the main support site page and log in, then load the forums URL, it should let you in.

Recently, I've not be able to access the archived forums. Tried the method you listed Miruna, but still get detected as an Anonymous user with no access to the forums. Trying to login from within the forums just keeps asking for username/password. Following links into the forums from the support site search give me something similar to what Chad shows in his screenshot.

Issue seems to have started around the time the support site search changed. It now has the green + and red x to add/remove search criteria.

There is currently an issue with access to the old forums. We're looking into it.

The old forums should be back up. You may need to clear your support site cookies in order to access them.

Interesting. I usually get 270.66, but logging out and back in fixes it.

Chad,

You had contacted support about this issue. The link you were trying to use results in an error, but this link works fine

Go to the support site home page. Make sure to log out and then log back in. Then use the link provided
