Question

Backup shutdown the Search services ?

asked on April 22, 2014

Looking at these instructions : http://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/9.0/en-us/AdminGuide/Content/Laserfiche_Full-Text_Indexing_and_Search_Service.htm

I cannot find that feature on my 9.0 version of LF, I am doing a bat script but need the command and service name for search/indexing feature to stop so search folder can be backed up as well along with repository files.

I am able to set the LF in read only state using SQL stored procedure but cannot figure out the service name to turn off search/indexing feature.

You may have installed the Laserfiche Full Text Search and Indexing service on another server. If you open the Laserfiche Administration Console and look at the Index properties for one of your repositories, the General tab will inform you what server it's installed on. See the example below

The menu only appears when you have the server name selected in the LF Admin Console.

The Search Engine's service name is "LfFTSrv" (you can check any service's name by going to Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Services. If you select the service and right-click to open its properties, the name will be at the top of the General tab).
