drag drop import in Citrix environment

asked on April 18, 2014

Problem:

When users from 1 PC try to drag and drop into LF, all they get is the circle with a line through it icon telling them the action is not allowed.  They can go to File - Import and bring the file in without problem, but drag and drop will not work.  This is true of both LF user or Windows users.

System:

Citrix ZenApp 6.5 hosting VMs with Windows 7 Pro SP1 x86, 1.8GHz dual CPU and 3GB RAM.  They are running LF client 9.1.1.486.

History:

When they first set it up, the drag and drop was working, but they were having some scan issues.  They installed the LF client to the local machine to try to resolve the scan problem and that is when the drag and drop stopped working in the Citrix desktop from that machine.  They removed the local install of the LF client, but they still can not drag and drop into the client under Citrix from that machine.

Did any changes to UAC occur recently? As a test, try setting UAC to "never notify" and reboot the PC. Then see if there's still an issue. If there is, please open a support case.

The UAC is and was set to never notify.

This same customer is also having issues with LF scanning through the Citrix desktop.  They are using Twain scanning, and the Paper size and source options are not always working from the main scan window.  Also, after all the pages have been scanned, they must click the Stop Scanning button to stop the scan process and store the document.

Any thoughts from anyone else using a Citrix environment?

The only way I was able to get around this so far is to have the users as a local admin on their machines. I am currently running into this issue as well because the organization no longer wants the users to have local admin rights on their respective machines.
