Question

quickfields freezes when running a lookup process

asked on April 16, 2014

Using Quickfields 9.0.0.427, Server 9.1.1.486.  I have a session that runs fine until I enable a lookup process.  The process looks up a last name on an excel file and returns an SSN.  Very basic 32 bit odbc connection to the excel file xlsx.  When I test the process it returns 1 row as expected.  When I enable the process and run the batch, Quickfields immediately freezes and BPSession8.1exe *32 pegs the CPU and memory of the laptop and I need to kill the process.  If I disable the lookup process the session runs fine.  Any ideas?   I have a feeling something is wrong with the lookup process but it runs fine in testing.

Thanks, Miruna.  Already done.  There is a hotfix that updates that .exe.:

In case anyone else runs into this.

Please open a case with Tech Support and attach the session and the Excel file.

So I have a client that has encountered this very issue.  KB 1013290 had no hotfix to download, so I downloaded KB1013636 hotfix and applied it.  However, there are still random SSN that we try to perform the lookup off of and it just locks everything up.  We're looking up our info from an Excel file...others work just fine using the same file.  Nothing odd about the file as we checked formatting to make sure no blank spaces, etc.  Any help would be appreciated.
