Does named pipes need to be enabled on SQL Server?

Does named pipes need to be enabled on SQL server network config>protocols for MSSQLSERVER in order for Laserfiche to communication, query, write to, etc?

Just one note on Kelsey's answer above, if SQL and the Laserfiche Server are on the same machine, you don't need to enable named pipes. You only need it when they're on separate machines.

Hi there,

 

Yes, you will want to enable named pipes to allow communication. If you go to the SQL Server in question, use the SQL Server Configuration Manager tool to enable the named pipes protocol for the SQL instance that hosts your Laserfiche database(s).
