Question

Initiator Values Not Being Populated

asked on April 15, 2014 Show version history

I have two fields that are supposed to have a default value set to {/dataset/_initiator_email} and the other with {/dataset/_initiator_displayname}. When I test the form with my log in neither one of them populates. I know the initiator_displayname works in the Process Modeler. Is this a known problem or am I doing something incorrectly?

Hi Blake,

When token used as default value in a Forms, it's value is populated when form loads.

If you use initiator token in the start form, the value will be blank. Before start form submitted, process get triggered, the initiator is not defined when form loads.

Once process get triggered, the initiator is defined, so that the value will be non blank when used later.

In your case, what you want to log is the current user, who opens the start form. So "Current User" token should be used as default value, it will populate the field when form loads.
