Question

Are there XMLs available for the forms described in the Quicker Better Safer Laserfiche forms brochure?

asked on April 14, 2014

I have clients asking to recreate some of the functionality from the forms in the brochure.  Are there XMLs available so that we can see what's going on in all the parts of the forms?

The articles which appear in Quicker Better Safer Laserfiche Forms have been updated for new Laserfiche Forms 9.1 functionality. Here are the direct links to the updated articles on the Laserfiche Solution Exchange:

That version of the travel request process came out before 9.1 and used a combination of Workflow and the Save to Laserfiche feature to save documents in the Laserfiche repository. So, the process only used one service task, but ended up doing a little more outside of forms to further process the form submissions for storage in the repository.

If you're on 9.1+, you should use a Save to Repository service task and shouldn't need to use a Workflow service task at all.

Hi Donald,

Is there any business process that you're specifically interested in?

Right now I'm looking at the Travel Request.  I'm able to essentially recreate it, but I'd just like to be able to be able to import it so I can see how certain things were done.  For example, they seem to have one service task to both store the document and run the workflow.  The version of forms I'm using required me to separate them out into two separate service tasks.  It be nice to be able to look at the examples being touted as a solution to see how exactly (at a technical level) these things were accomplished.  Kind of like how the solution for Eaton County has nearly every single step detailed at a technical level.  Just wondering if these are available to import or not.

Thanks,

DBJ

Hi Donald, we're in the process up updating all of the articles in Quicker Better Safer Laserfiche Forms to take advantage of the new functionality available in Laserfiche Forms 9.1 (such as the Save to Repository service task). Once that is available, I will post a link here.
