Question

Why LFS has high memory usage?

asked on April 10, 2014 Show version history

Hello Everybody, In our company have Laserfiche Server 9.0.2, SDK 7.2.1 and LF Client 7.2.1 (we are going to migrate clients in our roadmap).

Laserfiche Server service usually increments its memory consumption until it reached high memory usage (almost totally RAM memory). O.S. is Windows 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2 is installed in same server.

What can cause a high usage memory of LFS?

Any comment about it, will be appreciated.

How many users are connected and how much memory is the Laserfiche Server using?

Hi, there are about 12 or 15 users connected, we have 30 retrieval and 15 full user licenses.

Currently, LFS is using 21 GB and SQL Server is using 7 GB, on a server with 32 GB RAM.

That is definitely not expected usage. How long does it take to get to that after restarting the server? Please follow the steps in this KB article to generate a dump file and have your reseller open a case. If you can generate the dump file when the memory is somewhat more manageable (after you think it started leaking, but less than 3GB or so) so the file size is not too bad, that would be great.

We restart the server on every saturday, and it have had that memory consumption since two days ago. This has been occured frequently last two months, and we had finished a migration from LFS 7.2.1 recently (a couple of weeks ago), SQL database size is about 90 GB also. I will generate a dump file and contact my reseller to open a case. Thanks!
