Hi Adam,

I'd like to point out that Quick Fields provides automatic redaction functionality out-of-the-box. You can set up a Quick Fields session to process new documents as they come in or to re-process documents already in the repository. Using Quick Fields you'll be able to set redactions based on an area of a page or using pattern matching. Quick Fields sessions can also invoke workflows directly upon completion, if you would like to use a combination of Quick Fields and Workflow to do your processing.

If you prefer to use a custom script with Workflow that is also possible, but more complicated. Someone else may have sample code for you there!

It would be nice to be able to do this type of redaction in workflow, or to be able to call a quickfields session on a distributed processing server or quickfields agent server.

I know that quickfields can call a workflow, but I am notsure the reverse is possible without scripting.

Redaction in workflow would be a nice benefit so images do not have to leave the repository and come back in.    The other benefit would be the rapid response to redact sensitive documents by utilizing workflow.   Since sticky notes could be placed easily it would be a very good feature to add redaction.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks for the suggestion of quick fields we use this feature on documents during the indexing process and it works great!
