Client freezing using ScanConnect with LF Client 9.0.1.610 and earlier with ScanConnect 8.3

asked on April 8, 2014

Anyone else getting constant freezes with ScanConnect?  Here's our scenario:

It occurs after the scan has taken place and when highlighting and deleting using the thumbnails view.

More specifically, we can recreate the issue with the following actions:

We scan a two-page document; the first page is displayed by default.

<<Double click>> on the second page to make it the active image in the document pane above.

Highlight the first image with a <single click>.

Press the Delete button.

I receive the dialog box, "Laserfiche Scanning: Are you sure you want to delete page 1?" but it is unresponsive.

It appears that the dialog box does not have focus and cannot gain focus, although, it being a modal window, it requires a response.  The window cannot gain focus so it cannot be closed, and the underlying application cannot be accessed either or closed from the taskbar.  Our current only work-around is to kill the client plus the underlying processes.

We've recorded this in LF Client versions 8.3.x(?), 9.0.1.610, and now 9.1.0.413 with ScanConnect 8.3.

We've seen this on Windows 7 Pro SP1, 32-bit, Windows XP Pro 32-bit, Windows 7 Ent 64-bit

Thanks,

Adam

This is a known issue. The workaround is to turn off the deletion confirmation prompt from File\Options\Prompts.

Any actual fix for this issue yet, or still just the workaround?

I see this was 4 years ago, which makes me hope there is a fix for it rather than just a workaround.  I have a client that is using LF 10.3.1 and Scanconnect 8.3 and they are experiencing this same issue.  Anyone know if there's a fix yet??

I am still experiencing this issue. I hope there is a fix by now. I have to use task manager to close out Scanconnect and reboot my whole computer to be able to scan into LF again.
