Is it possible to export a repository from Laserfiche 8.3 and set it up as a usable Windows folder/share?

No, this is not possible at the repository level. The Laserfiche repositories are made up of a combination of a database that describes the folder structure, security, metadata, and documents and a set of file system folders that contain the actual page images and OCR'd text. There's a lot more to it, but that's the gist. You can export individual documents as PDF or image files, and you can also right click on a folder and select Export. You'll be able to dump PDFs and sidecar files with OCR'd text into a matching folder structure.

Can you describe exactly what you are trying to accomplish? If you simply want to provide a way to browse files from Windows Explorer, you could try using WebDAV, but it would still be subject to user and device licensing.

Hi Paul,

Another way of answering this is:

Yes, with the right effort and a bit of code, Content in Laserfiche can be exported out into a replica of the Laserfiche folder structure.(anything can be achieved, given the enough time and money).

However why would you want to? Could you describe your requirement please? There may a solution waiting for you already!
