Question

Is there a way to export "All" pages by default when a page is selected in the thumbnail view?

asked on April 8, 2014

 Hi,

We have some users that want to export all pages of a document by default, even if they've selected a page in the thumbnail view in the document viewer of Laserfiche client.  They open a document and go to File>Export>Images.

Currently the default behavior seems to be to attempt to export just the page selected in the thumbnail view, if one is selected.

I can get it to export all pages via setting the thumbnail view to 'Auto-hide' but I'm wondering if there's a toggle or something to make it ignore selected thumbnails, without having to autohide the thumbnails.

And, yes, exporting from the browser, clicking appropriate radio buttons each time or mouseclicking to deselect the page in the thumbnail view each time does work, but that's not preferred by the users.

Thanks.

I don't believe there's currently a way to do this from the document viewer, as soon as any thumbnail is selected. One thing we've considered is to default to 'All' where relevant (Export, OCR, Email) if only one page is selected when the dialog is opened, under the premise that there's basically always 1 selected and in many default cases people probably want All, unless they specifically select a set of pages. Would this approach address your concern? I'm not sure if we'll go with that approach but we've looked at it in similar scenarios.

Yes, that would be nice in some situations where the end user is having trouble with this. Thanks for the information.
