I am trying to find how to do this in Laserfiche access rights.
Question
Question
How to replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions?
Answer
Perhaps this does what you are looking for: http://www.laserfiche.com/SolutionExchange/Article/clear-entry-access-rights-from-an-entry
Any suggestions on doing the opposite? I am trying to remove the inherited rights and assign new ones with workflow. When I choose to "Remove all Rights" in the workflow activity, the rights remain.
Chris - can you explain what it is you are trying to do (perhaps in a new thread)? That's really not something we generally recommend as that can make security very complicated to manage and we've found that it's much more common for holes to crop up when inheritance is turned off everywhere.
I will start a new thread.
It is for subfolders that get updated by a workflow and the permissions change for different user groups. I have a blanket security set up to trickle down using the inherited rights. After a scheduled workflow runs and checks a SQL query, if the folder is 'closed', than all editing permissions are denied. I would have to override the inherited permissions to do this.
I am trying not to have to move 'closed' folders for user friendly browsing. I could simply move the 'closed' folders to where they could inherit the new permissions, but would rather not if at all possible.
No need to respond here. I'll post the new thread now. Thank you :)
