Laserfiche Quick Fields is a much more comprehensive scanning tool than Laserfiche Scanning and sounds like it may be the best solution here.  Quick fields allows you to modify the list of file types allowed with Universal Capture, but Laserfiche Scanning has a set list of .tif, .bmp, and .jpg.  Follow these links to find more information on Universal Capture with Laserfiche Scanning and Laserfiche Quick Fields.
