Versioning a PDF file creates multiple versions

Versioning is enabled on PDF files within the repository. The PDFs have pages created for text searchability. When the user imports a duplicate PDF via the LF Client import function, the version dialogue box pops up. The user selects, "Create New Version". At the end of the transaction there is version 2 and also version 3 and 4. Is there a reason that versions 3 and 4 are created? When I look at the additional versions, they have the same creation time as the 2nd version and the creator is the end user that created the 2nd version.

What version of the Client are you using?

Client version 9.1.

However, as it turns out, the new versions are not necessarily new document versions but new versions created when index values have been changed. The document itself remains unchanged.

I'm going to follow up with my end user to verify that this addresses the concern.
