Is there a way to add a bar code to forms?

Just need to know if you can add a bar code field and use variables from form fields or SQL look up to populate the bar code?

I have not tried this, but I wonder if you could use CSS and a custom HTML field to accomplish this. You would need access to a barcode font to include in a CSS class or ID. You would then use the custom HTML field to display the field in the custom HTML field using the barcode font. You would then use a database lookup and probably JavaScript to populate the custom HTML field with the value from the database.
