HL7 refers to both a non-profit organization and the interoperability standards for exchanging and sharing health information.    Laserfiche does not have the ability to parse HL7  messages natively.

However, at Ricoh Canada, we have successfully written and deployed custom-code to receive and parse HL7 messages using Laserfiche Workflow.   Additionally, there are many excellent providers of HL7 messaging such as Intersystems.  http://www.intersystems.com.

Hi Saifudeen,

Are you referring to an HL7 software interface or just the HL7 standards? As far as I know the standards are regarding the exchange, integration, sharing, and retrieval of electronic documents, which is what Laserfiche excels at.

If you are talking about how to configure Laserfiche to talk to one of the HL7 interfaces, this is possible. We don’t have any pre-built integrations or connections, but we do have several partners that print output and convert it to formatted TIFF files, which can be used with HL7 streams! Specifically, take a look at Planet Press and FabSoft Reform.
