I have a custom SQL query which can produce anywhere from 1 to say 6 rows of data. Most of it I'm only interested in once but there are one or two columns I need to collect each value for in a multi-value field. When I test the query it shows that I'm returning the correct number of rows but it's not populating more than the first value in the multi-value fields. I thought this issue was resolved in QF 9 but maybe my memory is off on this one. Please let me know if there is a way to populate multi-value fields when multiple rows are returned from a query. Thanks in advance.

Question
Populate multi-value field from Real-Time SQL lookup
Answer
Unfortunately no, that information is still correct. The easiest way to handle this now would be to have Quick Fields invoke a workflow directly (which is new in 9.0) and offload that task to Workflow.

I think you would need the scripting module in QF or do it in Workflow if they have that. Here is an example from a previous post for QF. https://support.laserfiche.com/forums.aspx?Link=viewtopic.php%3ft%3d14943%26amp
That post was all the way back in 2010, I think that was still version 8.0? Has nothing changed around this?

Hi Matt and Michael,
I am also having this problem.
You see, the point of having features like Realtime Lookup is such that the scan operator can validate the information in real time. This speeds up the process and requires less clicks from the end-user. Now, you're saying that although QF supports Multi-Value fields, it actually doesn't support it for certain features, like Lookups. This seriously affects my solution negatively. I also don't see any reference to any documentation around no support for multi-value fields and Realtime Lookups other than this thread.
This means that QF as a tool, in this instance, is no better than just using LF Scanning and WF to get the same results with possibly less clicks involved and would have cost me less.
Matt, is there absolutely no better solution to this? QF with Lookup is not cheap.
Thanks
Sheldon
Sheldon, I figured out a work around in QF. If you want some help with this email me directly at michael@amipaperless.com
