Question

Web Access Saved Searches disappeared

asked on March 25, 2014

When we upgraded to 9.1, our users are unable to see any of their prior saved searches in Web Access.  The attributes are still available under their user account.  Is there a way to bring their searches up in the web console?

Searches created in Web Access 9.0.2 are still visible for me after upgrading to 9.1.1.

What version did you upgrade from? Did you upgrade to 9.1.0 or 9.1.1?

Is this issue occurring for all users or only some? If only some, could you post the saved searches? If it's all users, could you post any Everyone group searches?

We upgraded from 8.3, to 9.1, and then to 9.1.1.  Right now we are still testing 9.1.1, but it is happening in all of our testing accounts.  When we first log-in, click search, and I see the saved search drop down for a second, and then it disappears.  All of our searches are mostly just field searches with an advanced search to limit to a specific template.  I can't add to our Everyone group, as the searches are for specific groups of users.

Example search:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><SavedSearches><RepositorySearches Database="OCDSB"><Search Name="Form 208 LTO - All" BasicString="" SearchText="" SearchNames="" SearchFields="" SearchAnnotations="" SearchCustom=""><Attribute ID="f1:Subject"><String>Form 208 LTO</String><Comparison>Exactly</Comparison></Attribute></Search>

The attribute you posted is missing some closing tags like </RepositorySearches> --- is this only part of the attribute? If this is the entire attribute for the user, the syntax needs correcting.

Assuming it was just a snippet, f I take just the Search part of the attribute you posted and add it to an attribute for a user in 9.1.1, it works fine, so there does not seem to be an issue with this particular search.

Do you know if the searches present after upgrading to 9.1 but before upgrading to 9.1.1?

I was not able to reproduce the issue upgrading from 8.3 either. You could try deleting and recreating the attribute. Make sure you get the entire XML text when you copy from the old attribute. If that doesn't work, you might need to open a support case.

Sorry, copy didn't take the whole thing.  We upgraded our production environment this weekend and the searches did stay in Web Access there.  So since this is our test environment anyways, not going to worry about it.  Thanks for the help.
