I am dealing with a problem where I have users that are running Windows 7 64 bit and office 2010 64 bit. When they try and email a document from Laserfiche I get a message from Outlook that says "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client." The odd thing is that the client is set as the default mail client. I was informed that this issue is because Laserfiche is not compatible with 64 bit Outlook. I have seen email work on 64 bit Outlook before. Has anyone run into this issue with 64 bit machines?
Question
Question
Error message when trying to email a document from the client using Outlook.
Answer
The 32-bit Laserfiche Client won't be able to communicate with 64-bit MAPI/Outlook, but the reason why it may appear to work in some scenarios is that as a fallback, the Client will use Outlook's COM API instead of MAPI if possible.
This requires that Outlook be configured as the default mail client in Windows. If you are certain that Microsoft Outlook is set as the default mail client, but are still getting that issue, then check the Windows registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail and that the (Default) string data value is set to Microsoft Outlook.

Hey there,
Yes, this is a known issue and according to the LF KB article, the LF client is still a 32bit client so has trouble with Outlook x64.
See this page on the Laserfiche website:
https://support.laserfiche.com/KB/1013189
And this on Microsoft's:

The Laserfiche Client is 32-bit, so it cannot launch 64-bit Outlook. If you're emailing from Outlook and browse to pick a document in Laserfiche, you're going through the Laserfiche Office plug-in, which has a 64-bit component and is not using the Client.
