Question

Creator of an Annotation shows as empty if the user that created the annotation is deleted

asked on March 19, 2014

A customer noticed that in the properties of an annotation the creator shows as null if the user that created the documents was deleted.

This seems to be an issue for them when reviewing older documents and trying to determine which user applied an annotation.

I was able to confirm this occurs in LF 9.1.1

Any solutions to this problem?

For this reason - and for reviewing document security and ownership - we advise customers to delete rather than disable users.

If the user was an AD account, the user (in ACLs, for example) is replaced by a SID, which isn't helpful either.

So yes, it would be useful if it were possible to see users involved in all aspects of the information processes even if they've been deleted. Or perhaps LF could just remove the ability to delete users?
