Question

Document Properties Freezing

asked on March 18, 2014

When a document is scanned, the document properties freezes. The area where data is entered turns a yellow color. If you click in another area, such as Default Properties, it unlocks the fields so informaiton can be entered, but it is an extra step for the customer, and is the cause of some frustration. Is there a resolution for this?

The yellow background is shown for the default properties. The blue one is shown for individual document properties. One some machines, we've had issues with selecting the first document when scanning is complete, so it would look like the document is selected but the configuration tree was actually selected instead.

If clearing the attributes doesn't work, please open a support case and attach a video of the issue.

What version of Laserfiche Scanning are we talking about? Are you using standard or basic mode? The background color for default properties is yellow.

Is this user-specific?  If so, I would try resetting the user's profile (deleting all entries from the Attributes tab for that user).  Or you may want to try the steps in this KB article:

It is version 9.1, and standard mode.  The background when it is not locked is a more powder blue color, and if it scans and locks, it is a yellow color.  I will try deleting all the entries from the Attributes tab, as a first round trial for a fix.  Thank you.
