Question

Forms Participant Role?

asked on March 17, 2014

Do users that will be participating in a Form need to have access rights for it?

The situation I am in is that we would like to have certain processes that users are unable to see/start but will be a part of the business process, only as a participant.

Is there a participant Role planned for the future of Forms? If not, can there be?

No, the only reason they need Access Rights to a form is if they need to be an Admin of the form or a Submitter if it is a restricted form instead of public.

By assigning a user to a User Task, they will be able to participate and interact with the form accordingly.

The security roles on the Access Rights page for a process determine the users that can start or administer the process. Other users can participate in processes by being assigned user tasks. These task participants do not need to be listed on the Access Rights page (unless they will also be starting or administering the process).

Task participants are set on a task-by-task basis; we do not have any plans for a participant role on the Access Rights page.

Hi Eric,

Is it possible to assign *all* participants, or a select group of participants to a process in the Access Rights page to start a process without having to add them one-by-one?  LDAP synchronization will be dynamically changing the list of participants and we want to avoid having to manually add/remove individual participants in the Access Rights of a process.

Dears,

Can participant users change their password by themselves??

I believe as long as it is a manually added participant user. In other words, not connected to an LDAP account.

Please can anyone help. I have a client who is on Avante 10 Edition who feels its not justifiabe to have to purchase a Full Named User license  instead of Participant User License when all he wants the partcipant User to be able to do is insert one or two lines of comment on a document.

So can partcipant users comment on a document? If not, is there a way this can be achieved?

No, Participant licensed users are read-only in the repository.

Thanks Blake for the quick response. Please tell me, what other User license can be used with Avante apart from Full Named USer that can have this feature?
