We recently purchased a fleet of iPads. To deploy them we have also purchased AirWatch Mobile Deployment Manager. This product has the ability to send Application Configuration Settings when pushing an App. Does Laserfiche Mobile App support this feature, and if so what are the KEYS for ServerName, Repository, & UserName. I would use Static entries for the first two, and a variable for the UserName from the MDM.
Question
Question
Can we push configuration settings for Laserfiche Mobile App with our MDM (Airwatch)
Replies
The Laserfiche Mobile iOS app stores its configuration in a property list (.plist) file that is bundled with the executable (.ipa). Distributing through the Apple Configurator utility or an MDM like AirWatch for your described scenario would require something like your organization having an apple developer account (or if you have more than a hundred devices an enterprise developer account), make the app creator (Laserfiche) member of your program, have the app creator build the app with your certificate and give you the .ipa and .plist file to distribute. Apple does not make this easy for sure (as school districts with hundreds of iPads to manage found out). So its probably easier for you to make an AirWatch or a daisy-chained USB image deploy through Apple Configurator and click the "Remember me" checkbox the first time the apps log in.
Barna,
Thank you for your help, that is what we decided would be fastest for our deployment needs. Thank you.
