Question

Assigning folder access rights

asked on March 10, 2014

I have a customer that uses Autostore to generate client folders that each have 2 sub-folders - Work Orders and Correspondence.

They would like User C to be able to see the Work Orders folders, but not the Correspondence folders in each of the many account folders.
Can you suggest the best method to accomplish this without having to restrict each one manually?
I was thinking possibly having the Correspondence folder in a different volume?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
This is using Web Access 9.0.1.

The easiest way to set security on each of the two folders would be to have Workflow assign rights for you. You can use the Assign Rights activity to give (or remove) specific rights to users or groups when those folders are created. Just assign the Browse and Read rights in the Work Orders folder, but not in Correspondence!
