QF8.3 vs QF9.0 Scroll question

asked on March 6, 2014

I have a client that has been using QF 8.3 and just upgraded to 9.0 and they noticed something missing that they really liked.

QF8.3 – When documents were scanned they could scroll to an area on the first document and then use the next document key or arrow key to move between documents and the scroll would hold.

QF9.0 - When documents were scanned they now scroll to an area on the first document and then use the next document key or arrow key to move between documents and the scroll resets back to the top of the page.

Can this functionality be restored to 9 somehow?

I'll log it as a bug. It seems the default behavior in the image display has changed.

Hi there,

I just tested this out on my end with Quick Fields 9 and I see what you’re talking about. But getting the same functionality should be easy! To be able to view a particular area of a page while navigating between documents, try zooming in. I did so by drawing a box on the area I was interested in, but you can also use the zoom buttons. After zooming in to a particular area, such as the bottom half of the page, I was able to keep that area in the display pane for all documents while using the next document arrow button or clicking between documents in the revision pane.

I hope this works for you!

Kelsey,

I too was able to zoom in and it held the zoomed area between documents.  So is the answer to the question about restoring the functionality as it was in 8.X no?  Not saying you didn't give me a viable workaround but the client asked me directly if they could have that exact functionality back.  They have 15+ people that scan and are familiar with 8.X functionality.  I am sure you can understand not many people like changes that causes a little more work or retraining.  Even if it is as easy as just one extra step. If that functionality is gone I will of course let them know and we will get everyone zooming first.

Thanks again for all you do.

Regards,

John

Thank you Miruna!  I will start having them zoom.  Have a great week.
