Question

ssl site seal javascript

asked on March 2, 2014

I have a site seal from my ssl provider that I would like to add to our websites:

  1. Laserfiche Forms
  2. Laserfiche Weblink
  3. Laserfiche Web Access

Is there a help file for this, if not where can I add the javascript ?

Thanks,

Currently there is no extension point for customers to easily add their url links or other resources onto Forms Login Page. Directly modifying cshtml view file should work, although it's not recommended as it's not compatible to later upgrades and it may affect original layout.

Can you give some more details about what you are trying to do?

  • Are you just trying to add an image such as a GIF or a PNG to always appear on each of those websites, or do you want some dynamic behavior? If you are just attempting to add an image, I'm not sure why you would need javascript.
  • Where do you want the seal to appear?
  • Did you want to reference an image that is hosted somewhere already, or do you have the image file?

Johnny's comments about Forms goes for WebLink and Web Access also.  They both have a Login.aspx that you can modify, but you may have to reapply your changes after each upgrade.

Can I ask what benefit the seal provides beyond the browser's SSL/certificate information?

that's all it does Brian.  However sometimes its important to:

  • let customers know you have invested in their safety and indicate that you provide secure transactional data (this could be personal information on a laserfiche form)
  • Provide encouragement to complete forms (again could have financial information)
  • show the customer information shared is within a secure environment and authenticated by a trusted Certificate Authority.
