We have set the Import Agent Configuration to wait before a new file is imported into Laserfiche. This is set at about 8-10 minutes as certain batch reports take a few minutes to run and we do not want the "pieces parts" imported.
Laserfiche is installed on a server with software purchased from Microsoft. Microsoft issues security updates and patches every month (aka "Patch Tuesday"). In accordance with our security consultants recommendations, we install patches when they are released. The vast majority of patches require a restart of the server. As a result, we perform a restart on the server about once per month.
When the Laserfiche server is restarted, Import Agent breaks. The wait condition outlined above is no longer honored. When a batch report is run, we get 50 different emails (workflow initiates an email) of the pieces parts. Typically, we stop the Import Agent service, change the wait conditions by one second and eventually Import Agent begins to honor the wait condition.
Why does Import Agent break when the server is restarted? Today, the little workaround hasn't got the wait condition working again.
As outlined above, we get to do this little dance every single month and it is more than frustrating.
Any thoughts?
