Question

PDFs opening in Adobe rather than browser window via WebLink

asked on February 28, 2014

Is there any way to configure WebLink to Force PDFs to open in Adobe rather than in the browser window?  I know that you can change the setting within Adobe (Edit > Preferences > Internet), but if there is a way to have WebLink handle this instead, that would be ideal since we are talking about hundreds of users.

I assume that the electronic documents' associated program is what used, but wanted to check to see if there is a workaround of some kind.  Thanks!

My understanding is that it would be dependent on the browser settings for the browser being used. For instance, Firefox has a built in PDF viewer, but you can change a setting in Firefox to open with another program. To ask WebLink to be able to try and handle all of the different browsers and their versions would be quite a task (if it's even possible).
