Question

Send an Email from Laserfiche through Outlook 365?

asked on February 27, 2014

I have an Office 365 shop interested in Laserfiche.  It appears there is no option for the "LF Plugin" to work with this currently.   Is there a way to have the "Email" button of Laserfiche trigger an Outlook 365 new message with the attachment?  Or is this also associated to the Office Plugin?

thanks

Brett

I think you can follow the instructions listed for "client SMTP submission" in the following MS document:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn554323.aspx

Edit: Totally flubbed that. I took it as Laserfiche emailing, i.e. workflow.

Chad's right...

I went looking and just read through a whole mess of angry posts on community.office365.com from the past few years complaining about not having a program that integrates like gmail, yahoo and others do. The general conclusion from all of the posts there was that Microsoft would rather sell full subscriptions of office65 that include Outlook licenses.

The Email option from the client will actually work with any email client. I did a quick look on Google to see if Office 365 OWA supports acting as an email client in IE and it does not look like it does yet. It very likely it will soon. Exchange OWA via IE and Google Gmail via Chrome both support it.
