Question

Is there a way to paste meta data?

asked on February 27, 2014

This may have been a question I'd asked previously, but it would have been a couple of versions ago.

When you're copying a document and pasting it to a new location (as either a copy or shortcut), is there any way to do this which will retain the meta data associated with the original document?  I wondered a feature like this might be available, similar to Paste Special in Microsoft Office?

Please let me know if something like this could be accomplished - thanks to anyone who can help!

Which version of the Laserfiche Client are you using? I just tried copying a document in the current 9.1.1 client and the metadata came with it. If this isn't working for you, can you clarify exactly how you are copying? I did ctrl-drag-drop, myself.

I'm not sure what you're asking. The copy/paste behavior already does exactly what you are asking for. Can you please clarify?

Thanks for the quick replies - I didn't think this was the case, but I was wrong.  Much appreciated.
