Dears,
we are working on a migration from windows Share to Laserfiche. While copying a batch which contains files with long name, the copying will be interrupted.
Please, any idea how to solve this?
Thanks,
Dory Mina

255.
See https://support.laserfiche.com/KB/1012452 for a list of all the parameter maximums/minimums in laserfiche.
Hi,
I know about this KB. but I am asking if there is a workaround to discard this limitation?
thanks,
Dory
It is my understanding that these restrictions exist because of either restrictions to data types in SQL or because the restriction is set as a data type parameter. So there is really no work around for them.
Are you naming it something that long so that you can split metadata out of the file name afterwards? Because I know windows has a limitation of the complete filepath as 260 characters.
The only reason I could think from a windows share with a filename that long is a trick I use all the time to name a document name_metadata1_metadata2_metadata3 when importing it from another system then using workflow to extract that metadata.
So maybe if that's the case we could help you figure out another way to load that data in?
