Question

WF 9.1.1 Query Result Count Token

asked on February 19, 2014

In WorkFlow 9.1.1 I was excited to see the release notes mention the addition of a "result count" token to the Query Data and Custom Query activities.  To try it out I upgraded WorkFlow 9.1.1 today on an existing 9.1.0 WF server.  I verified I was using the new 9.1.1 designer (9.1.1.365).  I then created a new WorkFlow and added the Custom Query and Assign Token Values activities.  Finally, I created a new token and attempted to assign it the new "Result Count" token but it was not listed in the dropdown.

Is there something else I must do to access this new token in WF 9.1.1?

The token is functional and the warning is not affecting the runtime. The issue is just with the Designer UI not displaying it.

Is their any options in the properties pane underneath the "Rows to Return" section?

Yes, there is now the option to set a custom timeout under the Rows to Return.  However, there are no other options in the properties pane for choosing additional tokens to return (like there is for Find Entry).

Hm, I'll look into it. The token is available at run time, so you could just type it in as %(Activity_results count).

I tried that but it is underlined in red. Workflow sees it as an error and wont validate the workflow to publish.

You can typically tell workflow to publish anyway on the validation dialog.

True, I just don't want to publish any workflows with Warnings on a client's server.  No big deal, I can still create my own counters until this is fully functional.

Great to hear.  I will still hold off on utilizing it until it is fully supported as our customers do not need to see/question the warnings that it creates.  Thanks for your prompt help on this.

Hello, even though the token is available for use how do I use it in a condition? I am unable to manually enter token names into conditions. This creates many redundant token activities.
