Question

Page generation for JPG

asked on February 18, 2014

Hello Everyone

Trying to generate pages in a batch for imported jpg files (customer does not want convert them to tiff) to show thumbnails in the Client 9.0. When several files selected, Print dialog appears (snapshot attached) after each file. I've configured Snapshot don't show dialog - it did not solve the problem.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

I may be misunderstanding the issue you're facing. However if your goal is to be able to bring in .JPG files to the Laserfiche Respository, and want it to show the image as a thumbnail in the client, you only need to drag and drop the files into the system.

No need for snapshot print. Any standard image format will open using the LF Viewer, and will display as a thumbnail of the image if you have your client settings setup for thumbnails.

Here is a quick Screen cast that may help:

This only applies to Laserfiche Imaged Documents, and by choosing to not convert them to Tiff during the import, the images will be treated as Electronic Files. Specifically, disabling that option says 'import as its native file format', just like importing a word document or other external file type. The only way to get thumbnails will be to use Snapshot. That will also convert the pages to Tiff (the only way to get thumbnails in the first place) but will, I suppose, leave the originals as well.

That's correct Justin,

Snapshot leaves originals and creates thumbnails, however i have to monitor the process to hit Print button on the every file.
