WebDAV not passing session cookie properly to open file using Office 2013?

Hi All,

After setting up WebDAV with Laserfiche. The client is now unable to open files using MS office 2013?

We tested with Office 2007 and it worked well, but with 2013 it keeps asking for user credentials even if we specify "Remember credentials" - This then results in Laserfiche using to many sessions for the specific user, and the application hangs. Has anyone had this issue before?

Seems as though WebDAV does not properly pass the session cookie to Laserfiche Server. If the user agent string from WebDAV, has changed has LF updated this with the new string?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you for your response,

We tried with Fiddler and it worked with no issues at all, as soon as Fiddler was removed, the issue of credentials being requested started again.

The issue was tested on 3 environments (3 different versions of Office) with our developer and the findings are below:

1. Office 2007 - Worked with no issues

2. Office 2010 - Will not work unless we use Fiddler (or some other tool) as a proxy. I do not think this is a problem with Laserfiche since the reason for this is that winHTTP/Word is not sending the credentials whereas fiddler does.

3. Office 2013 - There is a problem where Laserfiche does not manage sessions well i.e. multiple sessions are opened and not closed which means that future connections to Laserfiche fail. This is a Laserfiche problem which I think we should report.

Have you verified that it's a problem with the cookies (using a tool like Fiddler), or is that a conjecture? I don't believe that the Laserfiche server has any special casing based on the user agent string. Are you seeing this problem on a machine where it worked with Word 2007, are has it never worked on this machine?

There was an issue submitted through Support with the Server not working correctly with Office 2013 applications over WebDAV. An SCR has been filed for it. I'm not 100% certain this would be specifically the issue you are running into, but something to be aware of.

Can you advise me with what release this SCR will be included? That would be great help, maybe it would be the case of that fixing the issue?
