Question

Find User Activity Not Finding Windows Account User

asked on February 14, 2014

Hello all,

I recently made one of my users a windows account user. I set up all of their default information for when the "Find User" activity is run. However, workflow will not acknowledge their information.

What I find strange is that from the workflow designer if I click tools/configure trustee directories/choose repository/Search value - the windows account search comes back successful for all of the stored information. Now when I look to find the SAME user, with the same information, in find user/A Specific User/Search Value - it comes back with nothing found.

I have the correct repository chosen, and the search criteria is definitely correct.

Anyone have a similar issue?

Thanks in advance,

Tony

When you are doing the:

workflow designer if I click tools/configure trustee directories/choose repository/Search value

You are doing this under your login with your windows permissions.

Workflow itself may not be running under the same login - in fact by default it'll run under system and will most likely not be able to do this. You need to change the workflow service to run under a windows account that has permissions on the domain to do this.

You can do this by either  running workflow configuration again or by going to services.msc (start/run/type in services.msc on 2008 or just start/type in services.msc on windows 2012) then find your Laserfiche Workflow service program, right click on it, and choose log on. On that screen you will be able to change your logon and then start/stop your workflow service to have it start working.

I'll bet that it'll work once you do this.
